To practice in the field of soil science in the State of Alabama, you must be certified by the State Board of Registration for Professional Soil Classifiers. The Alabama Soil & Water Conservation Committee administers the application process.

Application Checklist:

  • Completed application (print and mail)
  • College transcript
  • Five references
  • Mapping examples
  • Application fee

Deadline to have application packet submitted to SWCC office is Friday, May 2, 2025

Notification from Advisory council to approved applicants will be Friday, May 16, 2025

Exam date for 2025: 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 17, 2025 held at: Alabama Soil & Water Conservation Committee Office, 100 N. Union Street, Montgomery, AL 36130.
