The Alabama Soil and Water Conservation Committee (SWCC) serves as the state’s leading agency for protecting and enhancing soil and water resources on private lands. Through coordination with Alabama’s 67 Soil and Water Conservation Districts and collaboration with federal, state, and local partners, the SWCC administers vital conservation programs that assist agricultural producers and private land users in adopting sustainable practices that benefit all Alabamians. SWCC was established by statute in 1939.
